Before And After: Part 1

These images are from a job we recently completed. This is the strike plate for a mortise lock. The first image shows a VERY shoddy installation by someone who didn’t know what they were doing. Whoever fitted this actually cut the strikeplate rather than fitting it correctly, which made it the security equivalent of a wet noodle. The second shows the result of the work we did: we refurbished and strengthened the door frame, then performed a retrofit with a new, professional quality strike frame. From damaged, ugly and dangerous to clean, safe and secure in an hour or so. The finished product just needs a lick of paint, if that!

So, to summarize:
